In recent seasons as an international soloist, I had the privilege of performing violin concertos by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Bruch, and Tchaikovsky, as well as Schubert's “Rondo” and the “Four Seasons” both by Vivaldi and Piazzolla. Another passion of mine has been the recording of solo violin works ranging from Bach to Piazzolla. In March 2020, Centaur Records released my 2-CD set recording of Bach’s Six Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, an essential, and one of the most challenging, opuses of the violin repertoire. As a complement to this audio recording, I wrote a 10-article series on Bach performance praxis that has been published online by The Strad Magazine. These works are iconic, have been extensively performed and recorded, and opinions on Bach performance are particularly divided. A unique and distinctive aspect of this project was to record the album with a Baroque bow (while still using a modern violin and modern standard pitch). Previous solo projects include a 2015, Centaur Records release, which includes solo violin works by Telemann, Bach, Piazzolla, as well as the world premiere recording of original works by Franz Schubert. American Record Guide wrote, “you will never hear these Telemann Fantasias played so well,” as well as, “I enjoy the Piazzolla Tango Études more as played by Cotik than by anyone else.”
